Club Rules, Constitution and Policy Documents
Safety is to be considered at all times while at our flying field and all members must be familiar with the following documentation:
- NSMAC Club Rules (see document posted below)
- North Shore Model Aero Club Incorporated - Club Constitution (see document posted below)
- Model Flying New Zealand rules and advice notes (posted on their website www.modelflyingnz.org)

Listed below are basic rules to be observed however we encourage all pilots to be familiar with our full Club Rules and Club Constitution which are posted above:
Basic rules:
All models must conform to noise restrictions for the site details of which can be found in our Club Rules and Constitution documentation.
If you have any doubts or or do not fully understand the obligations placed on you whilst flying at NSMAC please don't be afraid to ask so we can ensure both yourself and everyone else at the club can enjoy the facilities, and the hobby, in a safe managed environment.
A first aid box and fire extinguishers are available in the Clubhouse if needed.
Basic rules:
- Members only to fly however guests welcome if accompanied by a member.
- Members of MFNZ affiliated clubs welcome provided NSMAC member present.
- No vehicles to be driven into the operational area without authorisation
- No taxiing in pit area.
- Keep well clear of aircraft when starting and running engines Range check prior to first flight An observer must be present in flight box while aircraft flying.
- As our field is within 4km of airport please observe 400ft height restriction Fly from within flight box, if not confident to take off from box notify other pilots that you are on strip.
- Notify other pilots flying of your intention to take off,land,dead stick etc.
- Fixed wing to fly west of strip away from pit area,car park and helicopter airspace.
